Peachfest Afterglow

Once again I wanted to thank each and every one of you guys who helped make Peachfest yesterday such a huge success. Never in my wildest imagination did I think that we would get over 1000 comments. I should have known better. You guys are the best.
I went back last night and tried to re-read through all the comments and finally realized that there was simply no way that I could ever pick a winner out of that. There were way too many good contest entries and other funny (or pervy) comments that made me laugh. I decided instead of trying to tamper with your perfection that I would lock up that post (not allowing anymore commentary) and enshrine it in the YJKOBT Hall of Fame that I am creating. I can't think of a more deserving group of comments and commentors than yesterday's:

Fresh Peach Pie

This is a to-die-for recipe.

18 lg marshmallows
1/4 c. milk

-->mix and melt together in saucepan

1 c. whipping cream

1 tsp. vanilla

-->whip together until peaks form

5-7 peaches--peeled and diced

1. Stir peaches into marshmallow mixture

2. Fold in whipped cream

3. Put into graham cracker pie crust

4. Chill for 4-6 hours.

PEACHFEST - Tuesday Word Game 5/20/08

Welcome to the first annual YJKOBT Peachfest!!

A couple of quick notes:
-If you are new to our blog, Welcome! Each Tuesday at noon we play a little game where we make up humorous endings to odd news stories. The best entry each week wins my "Peach" award which is a depiction of the peach water tower in Gaffney SC.
-Today is a special day and we are trying for a record 500 entries in 5 hours.
-Everyone who contributes a comment gets a commemorative "t-shirt" Please see the post below this one to pick up a shirt!

Now - On with the game !!

I knew that I had to come up with something good for this edition of Tuesday Word game so where do we head? I figured a good place to start would be Iceland's Penis museum of course. (specimens pictured to the left) Give this phallic news article a read and tell me if the founder of this place doesn't suffer from a tiny bit of penis envy. Yeesh.

Well for this weeks word game I figured that if they could have a penile museum we could certainly come up with a few hundred other types of funny and interesting museums or museum exhibits. Complete the following passage from the news article below with your own funny or odd idea or exhibit for a museum.

HUSAVIK, Iceland (Reuters) - Sigurdur Hjartarson is missing a human penis. But he's not worried: four men have promised to donate theirs to him when they die.
Hjartarson is founder and owner of the Icelandic Phallological Museum, which offers visitors from around the world a close-up look at the long and the short of the male reproductive organ.
His collection, which began in 1974 with a single bull's penis that looked something like a riding crop, now boasts 261 preserved members from 90 species.
A growing number of people from all over the world view the collection each year, 60 percent of them women.
"We had 6,000 visitors last summer and actually made a profit," Hjartarson said with a smile.

Peachfest T-Shirts

Announcements

OK everyone... a couple of announcements. (don't you feel like you are back in High School listening to the intercom?)
-First, Thanks again to MickyT for the idea of Peachfest... This is now scheduled for May 20th at Noon (Eastern time) where we will play a special edition of Tuesday Word game and try to get 500+ comments. I am excited!
-Second, I consulted with one of my peeps about the t-shirts and got several good ideas that I think we will go with. The t-shirts will be of course for anyone who contributes. I originally had the idea of a contest for a slogan and I am still working on how to incorporate that. I think you all will like the t-shirts ... I am keeping them a secret though.
-Congrats again to Jahooni who became our 25,000th visitor yesterday evening. (No it's not a joke and we aren't trying to Punk you LOL) See the post below this one. We do have a presentation to make you you that is special and I think you will be very happy with it. It's the first of it's kind presentation from us here at YJKOBT. Presentation to take place tomorrow.
-Thanks again to everyone who contributed to Tuesday Word game yesterday, It was a really great addition. We got tons of great entries and as usual I laughed my butt off as usual and had a hard time deciding a winner because you guys are truly hilarious! There were many quality entries but after consulting with a few others and reading all your comments I have to agree that this comment by Mt. Cat was the funniest of the entries:

The scientists also plan a research project to study if Heather Mills' leg falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it scream for more money?

I am changing my previous position and officially saying that even though he is co-owner of this blog he can win the Peach. So here you go buddy:

-Along the lines of the 25,000th visitor we want to thank everyone who visited yesterday because we set records for total hits, visitors, and first time visitors yesterday. It was a big day.
-And finally if anyone can legitimately say that after hearing David Archuleta sing Sweet Caroline and America last night that he can sing well and should be the winner of Idol then I say that you are on crack... He was terrible and butchered BOTH of those songs. Blech...Terrible... (and for Apple)... Barf!
