Weekly Poll

This week we are checking back to a poll that we put up about 6 months ago. Now that we are through the conventions and in the home stretch of the election I want to check to see who you think will win the Presidential election. This is NOT who you specifically want to win the election but who you think will win. Obama or McCain? What say you?

Barring any major screw-ups on either ticket...I see Johnny Mac in the White House come January. Cheers!!

My hands tremble as I type this and I hope I'm wrong but I've been having a sick feeling that McCain will win.

I think 'closet racism' will kick in and, in the privacy of a voting booth, people will not be able to push the lever for the dark man with the funny name.

Do we have to talk about it? I get sick thinking about the possibility.

LOL @ Knight

I also see John McCain in the White House. I honestly think that if nothing major changes it is pretty much a slam dunk.

Racism is rearing his ugly head already her in these parts.. "I pray Obama gets in BUT if he does how long will he last??" that is what is being said around her at the water cooler..

I am Obama all the way...

How scary to think of McCain and Palin
I want Biden but I don't want the bad guys to "take out" Obama, which I can see happening as clear as a November afternoon.

John McCain looks like someone my dad would hangout with.

Kinda like Jim Colbert....

John McCain looks like someone my dad would hang out with to have an excuse to talk to Sarah Palin.

*sigh*

Sarah Palin looks like Peggy Hill

One of the things they have talked about with voters is they are voting for who they would like to have a beer with instead of looking at the issues.

I read between the lines and see that the small boat industry [35-55ft] is failing. The only ones that are being built in that range are maxed out to the hilt, hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars. It's getting to be that the middle class can't afford to play.
The mega yacht industry[75-180ft] is booming through the roof all over the world. Nothing but multi- million dollar boats. Old shops that have been building boats for over a century are now converting to carbon fiber [with a little wood for looks] and other very expensive contruction tecniques. Also that same shop in Maine is building very high end interiors for these mega-yachts and shipping them to wherever the boat is being built. There doing this so they can stay in buisness.
Read between the lines....bye bye middle class.

I promised myself a year ago that I would never, ever vote for John McCain. So, I guess I'm going to keep my promise to myself and vote Obama. Unless I vote Libertarian. But, more than likely it will be Obama.

Our middle class is disappearing and my biggest fear is that when that happens, USA isn't going to be a good place to live. It is the middle class that keeps this country running. My generation is the first that isn't going to do better than our parents. Have we reached the top of what we can achieve?

I know McCain choose Palin to win the over women that wanted Hillary in office. Just because she is a woman doesn't mean that she will look out for women's rights. Seriously - this is the same woman whose water breaks - does a speech, an 8 hour plane flight, and a 45 minute drive home before going to the hospital to deliver her 4th child.

I'm afraid - and I do mean AFRAID- McCain will win, and agree with Dianne. We are a much more racist country than we are willing to admit.

I think there is something hot about McCain - in that good looking older man (geriatric) sort of way.

Oh, boy, Karen...are u serious?? I think he's almost creepy looking...hard to watch! Obama on the other hand...now he's got some sex appeal. ; )

(Ahem...not that this is really part of my voting strategy or anything. LOL!)

Still, at this point, I have NO freaking clue, but if I had to GUESS, I would say, as of RIGHT NOW, McCain, cause people just LOVE that Sarah Palin.

A few things mentioned in this blog string piss me off!

First, to insinuate that Obama would be 'taken out' or 'won't last long' is ludicrous (damnit, I used a Mike Tyson term...now I'm even more pissed!)

About "not being able to pull the lever for the dark man w/ the funny name" comment, think about this...21% of white America will not vote for Obama because he is black. On the other hand, 86% of black America will vote for him because he is black. Now tell me where the real racism is! BTW, if Obama really wants to celebrate diversity, why doesn't he ever talk about his white heritage?

(I've got the TV on in the background and they just played 3 Progressive ads back-to-back-to-back...Doc's wet dream!)

For anyone that fell for the "you will not do as well as your parents" line that I heard over and over in high school, get off your lazy, whoa-is-me, victim ass! The middle class is not disappearing, but I tell you it needs to wake up and kick socialism in the ass this November or it may be. BTW, to all the teachers that have uttered those words to students, how dare you for attempting to squash a kid's optimism of their future.

While on my soapbox, let me take the opportunity to say how much of a piece of shit I now think Matt Damon is. Knocking that Palin is 'small town' shows how elitist he is. A large majority of the most important people in our country's history came from small towns. Give me a small town to get away from city folk like Mr. Boston any day. That interview typifies the gross exaggerations of the Hollywood crowd. They could all take a hint from Kid Rock...stay out of politics because you are so far removed from the average American that your voice is meaningless and irrelevant.

All this said, McCain is not my first choice (not Conservative enough), but is the better choice between the two. I'll take a MODERATE Republican that has the brass to walk both sides of the aisle than a cowtowing SOCIALIST, LIBERAL Democrat that has always voted straight left; that is when he actually sacks up to vote something other than 'Present'.

Thats my dollar and two cents.

PS - Having been through my share of hurricanes, my thoughts and prayers are with all those in the way of Ike. May safety find you all and your property stay as damage free as possible in it's wake.

Out!
