In Loving Memory

Josette Aquafina
2003 - 2008

I Just wanted to update everyone. I found Josette this morning when I was checking up on the hill to see if the grass was dry enough to mow. I found her underneath a tree and sadly found that she was not coming home. It appears that she may have been in a fight with something that injured her however I could not tell because she had been there awhile. I buried her on that hill this morning. I always said that she wasn't a bad cat, she was just misunderstood. I understood her and I will miss her.

I hope you will allow me a quick dedication. I will always think of Josette when I hear the song Scarlet Begonias:

As I was walkin' 'round Grosvenor Square

Not a chill to the winter but a nip to the air,

From the other direction, she was calling my eye,

It could be an illusion, but I might as well try, might as well try.

She had rings on her fingers and bells on her shoes.

And I knew without askin' she was into the blues.

She wore scarlet begonias tucked into her curls,

I knew right away she was not like other girls, other girls.

In the thick of the evening when the dealing got rough,

She was too pat to open and too cool to bluff.

As I picked up my matches and was closing the door,

I had one of those flashes I'd been there before, been there before.

Well, I ain't always right but I've never been wrong.

Seldom turns out the way it does in a song.

Once in a while you get shown the light

In the strangest of places if you look at it right.

Well there ain't nothing wrong with the way she moves,

Scarlet begonias or a touch of the blues.

And there's nothing wrong with the look that's in her eyes,

Had to learn the hard way to let her pass by, let her pass by

I will sing the "meow meow meow" song in her honor.
Goodbye, feline pal, enjoy the catnip in heaven! :)

Has this been a crappy weekend for deaths or what?! First Dana's friend, then Josette, now my SIL. Check out my blog later for a memorial.

I'm sorry about Josette. I really liked her and feel priviledged that she didn't shred my hand but purred for me.

Oh Doc. I am so very sorry. I do understand. My favorite kitty ever, Friskie, died about five years ago. She was an EXCELLENT cat. After she had kittens one time, my neighbor found four baby kitties with no mommy. She brought them to me, and my Friskie Kitty took them as her own.

One day I couldn't find her. Three days later I found her laying in the barn, dead. I burried her myself by the creek. It was so very sad and I still think about that cat.

Thanks you guys... I guess I am frustrated because there was nothing I could do for her and she was obviously young and in good health.
