Happy Friday Doc.
But if Glengarry Glen Ross were released in 2008, Alec Baldwin would say: 'Put that Grande Soy Chai Latte Down!'

"First prize is a Cadillac Eldorado, Second prize is a set of steak knives, Third Prize is your FIRED !"

Doc said...

Half-Caff Americanos are for closers only?

Odd

Doc said...

Sory Leighann... This was supposed to be posted tomorrow...but we had to jumble up the schedule a little bit.

Step away from my coffee!! And yes, that's just plain coffee - BLACK!

Doc said...

No Froo Froo for Dana....

The Mountain Cat said...

'All I know is this; Hyman Roth will never drink his Sambucca & black demitasse again.'
Wait...sorry that is the wrong Al Pacino movie. Never mind.

Never seen the movie. Love my coffee. Want it, need it, nothing wrong with that. Easy cream with a bit of sugar lately. My coffee boys OR girls, that's how I take my COFFEE.

The Mountain Cat said...

'Frodo you are my brother. And I love you. But never take sides against the Gollum again. Never.'

Sorry Doc I just couldn't resist a Lord of the Godfather parody.

We now resume our regular programming......

Doc said...

I knew it was you all along Frodo !

Ok let me try one:

"leave the Gollum take the cannolis"

The Mountain Cat said...

I'M OUT OF ORDER!?!? YOU'RE OUT OF ORDER! THIS WHOLE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING IS OUT OF ORDER!

Damn, If Pacino starred in the Rings Trilogy the films would have been more exiciting!

The Mountain Cat said...

Doc, I am jumping the gun on these Pacino/Rings references. Maybe we should save them for a future top 10 list? Which, by the way, a new top ten list will be out at lunchtime. ;-)

That whole "motivational" speech was pure comedy gold. What? It wasn't supposed to be funny? Hmmm

Doc said...

Good Point Jay !

Nice forshadowing there Vin.

The Mountain Cat said...

Jay, That speech kind of reminds me of Gene Wilder in Young Frankenstein when he yelled 'PUT THE CANDLE BACK!'

As American as Apple Pie said...

Ok, I know I'm setting myself up on this one but...what movie is this?

Doc--why didn't you put a link to the video in?

Doc said...

Apple.... Video wasn't needed many people know Glengarry Glenross w/o the video... plus alls I wanted what the coffee line... most of the rest (while humorous as Jay points out) was superfluous

Ken said...

Feeling dumb! I have no clue to what any of this is about!

coffee black, one sugar please

The Mountain Cat said...

Doc, Do you know what the title
Glengarry Glenross means?? It is a metaphor. Both names are used very briefly in the film.

Doc said...

Jay, That speech kind of reminds me of Gene Wilder in Young Frankenstein ...

Frau Blikka..... *Horse Whinney in background*

Doc said...

Vin... No idea, I thought one were non-existant "leads" the Glengarry leads I think. As in they were fictional or a figment of whats his names imagination.

The Mountain Cat said...

They all are fighting for the 'good' leads, The Glengarry leads. So much so they are willing to lie & steal and live very stressful lives. But at one point of the film, Moss (Played by Ed Harris) reminises about the good old days when they sold Glenross Farms where they built a relationship with their clients instead of going for the quick buck. He pines for that life again. Glenross is a metaphor for the good times past. Glenngarry is the bad times now.

Sort of like how I feel with my mortgage industry. LOL.

Somehow I feel as if we have alienated a good portion of our readership.... Umm how about this:

Who would win a fist fight between Hillary Clinton and Heather Mills ??

Unknown said...

Coffee: Dark, one Equal.

(Or in my case, several extra packets of Equal in my bag. I just can't stop!)

Knight said...

"You can't close shit? You ARE shit!" Love that speech.

The Mountain Cat said...

Heahter Mills would win the start of the round as she would beat Hillary into submission with her wooden leg. But ultimately Hillary's bodyguards would pop a cap in her head and Mills would fall dead. So call it a draw I guess.

It really pisses me off that I've handicapped a finger (can you guess which one) by slicing it with a stupid paper file (- where the hell is the paperless offiec- huh?) since I love that movie...

ARGH!

Anndi said...

oh.. and um..

GO HABS GO!!!!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I LOVE the Kostitsyn brothers!!!

As American as Apple Pie said...

I'd go with Hillary in a fight. I think she has enough balls to kick most people's ass. Heather would just sit there are cry about it.

As American as Apple Pie said...

And I like my coffee with a dollop of flavored cream in it.

Anndi said...

Pet peeve alert...

We start a pot of coffee every morning in the office, fresh coffee.

Our shipping clerk actually drinks instant instead.

UGH

Doc said...

We could raise enough money to get us out of debt to China if they put Hillary versus Heather Mills on Pay-per-view at $19.95. It would get the US and British audience.

The Mountain Cat said...

Anndi, Go Habs?? No Go Rangers!!!!

***New posting in 15 minutes***

Doc said...

I guess there are the 'Habs and the Hab-nots...

The Mountain Cat said...

Doc, Did you know that the word 'Hab' is a Canadian word meaning 'I don't follow NASCAR'?

BBBBAAAAAAWWWWWWW!!!!!

Anndi said...

Not true! We do like NASCAR (some of the drivers are yummy...) turn left turn left...

Doc said...

Yeah Vin... Shut it !

(Sorry Anndi, I took Mt. Cat to a coulpe of NASCAR races and he thinks he knows what he is talking about... I bet you know more about NASCAR than he does)

Anndi said...

I've developed a recent interest and have a great (and yummy) teacher...
I'm currently reading a book about the origins of NASCAR... VERY cool history! Moonshine... yup
