Drowning in a sea

Ugh! I feel like I'm drowning in a a sea of expectations. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed right now with all the changes that need to take place, both at home and work. I know I need to make a list and prioritize and put together steps but even doing that feels daunting.
So what happens? I remove myself from the situation with something mundane and fun, like shopping or reading or blogging. I procrastinate until the last minute and then it's even more stressful.

For the most part, my life is pretty good right now. Finances are slowly coming back together, tax season is over, youth are behaving themselves, spring is here. Why do I still feel this way? I think I need a vacation...oh wait, I just had one. Besides self-medicating with vodka, shopping and chocolate, does anyone else have any suggestions?

Close your eyes and BREATHE. Then open them and do what you've gotta do. Only then will you have peace grasshopper :)

Yes at YGAKOBT Blogspot, you too can feel depressed, sad and unhappy like we are! I think I started this trend yesterday with my zero dollar bill.
Come on Apple! Like you on your blog earlier this week: SUCK IT UP!
It's Friday. It is beautiful out and the birds are chiming.

Chocolate and vodka always work for me! *wink*

Mt Cat if birds chime does that mean that bells chirp?

When I am under pressure, I find that cheap, hot, meanigless sex always hits the spot.

Vodka is good, but Wild Irish Rose is the elixir of life. Cheers!!

I'm working on it! Last night I had myself 2 LARGE glasses of vodka and cranberry juice. I was feeling much better. I also got something else that helps too. *wink*

Today is my day off so I'm doing the usual, cleaning & laundry. But, the Little Man and I are going to have some fun Mommy time later...after I peel myself away from the 'puter and get a shower.

It promises to be a beautiful day here in the South. Yay! Sorry for the downer.

Matt-man--where could I get some of that? The cheap, meaningless sex, not the liquor.

Lu--thanks for reminding me. I always forget to breathe when I'm stressed.

Dana--damn skippy!

Mt Cat--Yes! It's all your fault.

I'm a list keeping girl. I just keep writing it all down....I need:

Shoes for work
Shoes for going out
Shoes for day wear
Beach shoes
Flats
Heels
Shoes for walking/running

I got my priorities right...I said work shoes first...

Seriously, actually writing it all down takes the stress out of your body and onto the paer. then you just follow along...It really helps.

What do you mean? There are other options? I don't understand this concept!

I like to stay in a constant state of denial...that way there is no stress! Of course it can't last forever but, during those few minutes of the day it's nice to just imagine a clean board with no effing to-do list!

Christine--I think you are on to something. I need shoe therapy. I just spent the past 1 1/2 switching out my winter/fall clothes for spring/summer and taking inventory. I need new shoes! Last one to the DSW is a shoe loser!!!

Mt Cat--Crocs fall under beach shoes or walking around shoes.

Miss Merry--I do denial pretty good. However, I am soooo Type A that it doesn't last for long before I get wiggy again.

Micky-T--I am a BIG procrastinator. Then I get a bug up my ass and fly around like a crazy woman doing stuff. I need to find a "happy medium".

Lu--I only drink when at home or out with reliable friends. And only when I don't have to work the next day.

no "other" suggestions, but I will have a few drinks with you and will make us both feel better.

When and where Karen?

I agree with Matt-man (and that scares me)

and if you go shopping.. buy yourself some shoes (or at least go try on every pair that you like, and walk out leaving the sales clerk to put everything back save one very sexy pair of sandals or peep toes)

I make a daily list everyday with 2 areas for each day:
Absolutely have to get done and Would be nice if I got done.
Then anything from the would be nice list makes it to the next day. I cross off as I go, and feel so accomplished when I see everything crossed off.

We'll have to get a night where it isn't so crazy, grill out and make margaritas. We can throw some shoes once Doc gets the pits ready!

Patrick's Mommy--Sounds great! I like your idea, may have to give it a try. I'm game for Margarita's any night! But good luck looking for a time that's not crazy!!!
