So take those old records of the shelf....

Well my partner in crime Doc has gone away for a week on vacation with his family. That means it's party time for The Mountain Cat!! I have the whooollle house all to myself! Right now I am dancing to Bob Seger’s Old Time Rock and Roll in just a button down shirt, underwear and socks just like Tom Cruise in Risky Business.

Ok I know that is more than enough vivid imagery you can stand before your Monday morning coffee. So let me get to my first order of business this week: The winner of last week’s poll for your least favorite minor holiday is St. Patrick’s Day! It barely edged out President’s Day by a vote of 8 to 7.

Now for this week’s poll, let’s go slightly retro: Who is your favorite 1990’s Grunge Rock band from Seattle? Yes, the Starbuck’s caffeine infused city that used to be a hot bed of contemporary hard rock bands that changed popular music forever.

Do you prefer Alice in Chains, Candlebox, Mudhoney, Nirvana, Pearl Jam or Soundgarden? I am really interested to see what the millions of fans who read my blogs think.

Have a great work week y’all.

I was working in a restaurant when I first heard Nirvana. I told the other guys in the kitchen, "These guys will never make it." As you can imagine my career as a music critic began and ended in that very same day. I eventually liked most of their stuff.

Pearl Jam

That is all.

Hah! Having grown up in Seattle, I think I have the only right answer ... but I'm not giving it away!

Hey Mt Cat, are they painted right now? Flashing a some color as the shirt tails rise too high? I don't know grunge music. I've heard of some of the groups so lets just say they are all my least favorite.

Pearl Jam and Nirvana are great, but Soundgarden epitomized Seattle's grunge sound. Badmotorfinger is still one of my favorite albums of all time.

I just looked in the mirror
Things aren't looking so good
I'm looking California
And feeling Minnesota

Hey Vin....

Doc and I are hangin' out this morning and thinkin' of ya.

Doc has had a Changes in Latitude, Changes in Attitude...as proven by switching to Heinekin Light for his vacation from his standard Coors Light. Not to mention his Pencil Thin Goatee.

Tomorrow he will drive 2/3 of the Pascagoula Run to the FL panhandle to that One Particular Harbour.

As always, take the Weather With You.

Okay, I'm picturing you dancing around, and wondering if you will post a picture for HNT? How great would that be!

No photos or videos of me that are 'available'. LOL.
But please click on the Tom Cruise link in the article.
It looks like Pearl Jam is kicking butt.
Hey Doc and AbGat, have fun in the sun. Don't drink too much fellas.

Ok, everybody...I heard a nasty little rumor that the 'Tuesday Word Game' will not be posted tomorrow b/c Doc is out of town. Now, I don't know about you, but I don't think that we should all have to suffer cuz Doc is on vacation! I say, Mt. Cat, the show must go on!!

I still say that we should be able to vote for more than one! My varying personalities do NOT like agreeing on one individual favorite!

WORD GAME!
WORD GAME!
WORD GAME!
WORD GAME!

Leighann - on the DL, you can vote for more than one if you can log on to the site from a different computer. But, shhhh...don't tell anybody - LOL!!

I don't even know what who Candlebox and Mudhoney are. I'm assuming it's best if I don't play this game. Thanks for the Risky Business imagery though.

Uh,none of the above.

And who on earth in their right mind believes the fifteen minutes of fame Seattle grunge scene changed music forever?

Lots of drugs in those days?

I voted for Pearl Jam. It brings back some nice college memories at Frat parties. ;-)~

How many of you have heard of Geardaddies? Now they are the ultimate grungeband of the 90s.
