Dancing With the Stars-Week 2

Greetings DTWS Fans! I know the dances have been done and the eliminations revealed but I still felt the need to post my thoughts on this week's dances. I promise next week will be back to the regular schedule of Tu morning. Thanks for putting up with my laziness while I was on vacation!

My first observation of the night was that Bruno has PMS. He was not happy with virtually anything. Even when he did give a nice review, his face was still grumpy. Given that there was a full moon this past weekend which resulted in my husband having PMS also, I am hoping Bruno will be more pleasant next week.

Of the guys, I was blown away by Jason Taylor's Mambo. He sure showed that he can shake it and move very fluidly. His score certainly reflected that. My favorite for this week is still Kristi Yamaguchi. She proved once again, that she is a perfectionist and can even work hard to come out of her shell for the mambo. It was saucy and hot!

Since we know that Penn and Monica were the ones who were eliminated I can say that it did not surprise me. Monica's mambo was painfully slow and she was really stiff. The judges kept saying that she looked out of her comfort zone, which I'm sure she was. She just doesn't have the personality to put everything out there for America to see. Dance is much more personal than tennis. I felt that Penn's Quickstep was not quick at all. It seemed like his feet did not even move! I don't care if they are the size of ocean liners. His footwork was atrocious. I also didn't like that he is very defensive when talked to the judges. I'm sure it's very hard to be criticized but he did not accept it gracefully.

I felt the most improved from last week were Marissa and Cristian. If they continue to work hard, I think they could both stay around for a while yet. Marissa has an enthusiam that is contagious and will add to her dance if she does the steps well.

I am looking forward to seeing what next week brings. Let me know what you're thoughts were on various dancers and I'll chime in with more. Happy Dancing!

I love Jason Taylor - him and Edyta are hot together.

Krisi is amazing and so was her mambo.

Mario is a little cocky, but he does have rythm.

Marissa is a spaz - she needs to tone it down.

I love Adam Corolla even though he's not very good at dancing. hehe I just think he's really fun and I'm a huge fan of his morning radio show.

Judging from the overwhelming response in your comment box I think it is safe to say not many fans of dancing with the stars here, eh?

The show has been rigged since season one and no one cares...

I'd rather watch American Idol which I abhor and don't watch either.

Give me the only television show left in this country uncontaminated by corporate greed and crass commercialization, Wresting.

Wholesome entertainment and fun for the whole family.

Dirkstar--you seem somewhat jaded, yes? Could just be me reading more into it though. How is the show rigged?

I think the fans have left the building for the week.

Carmen--Jason and Edyta are hot, hot, hot! It's almost like watching soft porn. I agree with your other assessments except Adam. I'm not a fan, though I haven't listened to his radio show. I don't like that he called Carrieann a bitch last week.

TMC-that's ok, just trying to get more dialogue going. So when're you planning on coming for a visit?

Rigged shmigged I don't buy it and wrestling PLEASE now that is comercialized tv as well as just plain LAME. I used to watch it in the days of Pepper Gomez and Haystack Calhoon. I'm sure it was lame then too but I was too young to see it back then. DWTS is very entertaing and I'm often suprised by the varied audience it attracts. Just the other night this redneck(his own description) shooter at the trap club, I over heard him talking to one of the wives about it. Kristy is the gal to beat and I don't think they will beat her. She was the odds on favorite coming into the competition. Unless she trips up several times or is photographed kicking a small dog or child, I think she is a shoe in.

Doc-The real winner of season one was clearly cheated(John Hurley and his wonderful partner)and fans raised such a stink that a redo was held which he won hands down.

This show has had real problems with its image which are well documented.

It is as staged as Dave Navarro's show was.

AAAAP - I may come down to Charlotte this summer.

That Hurley redo was a bunch of crap. She one and there should have been no redo. It was the redo that was not fair. Who the hell gets a redo in a comptetion?

Dirkstar--I'll have to back Lu on this one. Who get's a redo?!! What documented problems? I've not heard of anything very bad.

TMC--I'm looking forward to it.

When my Mom-inlaw mentions things she's read about the show, her documentation is from The Star or The Enquirer. You know the utmost reliable sources.

Mario is a lot of fun to watch but I think Jason's going to win. Like Maks said in some recent interview, the show's mostly female viewers never vote for other women. Oh and I'm gay for Edyta.
