Not the first time Killeen Texas has experienced tragedy

Among all the other thoughts I had last night while trying to digest and make some sort of sense out of the senseless tragedy was "oh my gosh not in that town again."
I distinctly remember that back when I was in college there was another sensless mass shooting in this small Texas town. As a matter of fact it's probably the only reason I am even aware there is a town byt the name of Killeen Texas. I looked it up this morning and I was correct. 23 people were killed on October 16, 1991 when a 35 year old named George Hennard drove his truck into Luby's cafeteria and began firing after watching the movie The Fisher King. Before the Virginia Tech shootings this was the single largest mass killing in US history. Killeen Texas has certainly seen more than it's share of tragedy.
My thoughts and prayers are with the folks in Killeen and at Fort Hood this morning. I just hope that the media won't rush to judgement in this case and let the authorities do their jobs.
