After this past Friday's apology heard around the world what is your feeling on the state of the Tiger situation?
Tiger in very awkward fashion came out on Friday and admitted to the world what he has done and apologized to everyone for everything. After getting to watch replay of it and reading the text I have a feeling this was not the way he wanted to do this but his 'rehab' may have mandated it. He read from a prepared speech and did not come off as being totally sincere but he is awkward in this way normally. Apparently he is back to rehab and his golf career is on hold.
What is your opinion of this mess? I have a poll up that has a bunch of different choices and you can select multiple answers. Would love to hear your comments as well.

I.DON'T.CARE!
I don't watch it. I don't listen to it. I try not to read blogs that dwell on i *gigglesnort*
I think he's a selfish asshole. Adultery is adultery, but he went over the top. The fact that he could have easily picked up a disease and passed it to his wife and children is what really bothers me. One affair is wrong, but they do happen. However, screwing anything he came across is *really* disgusting. Have some standards at least.
I hope they really can work it out since children are involved. I think he's really only sorry his reputation is tarnished.
Just another guy screwing around.
Woopty do!
He didn't have sincerity behind his apology. The only part where I saw emotion from him is when he demanded that the media stop following his kid to school and publishing the address of the school in the new paper. Other than that he was robotic and unconvincing to me.
Though I do like the excuse that "I believed that the rules didn't apply to me." I am going to use that in the future.
But when push comes to shove, I don't care that much either.
I really think this is a private matter for him and his family. I felt the apology was completely unnecessary since the people who he really needed to apologize to were not the ones sitting in front of the tv sets.
I don't know how I feel about the whole "sex addiction" thing. It's not really a subject I'm knowledgeable enough about to discuss it's validity. But I will say I'm not sure that I've bought into it.
I don't care....and he will cheat again...but who cares...that is between him and his wife!
I haven't paid much attention lately, but this is between his family and him and has had too much media hype. It isn't our job to judge the situation, whether we agree or not.
I am with Dana. However, if I had to come up with an opinion I would say the guys a jerk to apologize to anyone but his wife and not get up there and tell the world that his personal life is his own damn business and everyone needs to go worry about their own skeletons and F-off. If he had said that, I might even watch a golf game.
The reason the speech sounded insincere is because it wasn't Tiger's words. It was crafted by his PR people and he just read the words.
I agree with Karen. The only time he sounded sincere was when he was defending his family. I'm glad he finally did that. It took him 3 1/2 months to do it, but he finally did.
And I think it's beyond outrageous that every damn network carried the event live. And then analyzed it for 20 minutes afterwords. This didn't rise to that level at all. The cable channels and ESPN were more than enough.
I saw bits and pieces of the apology and think that this will just die down. His wife will leave him or stick with him. Not sure. I'm sure this is a common issue among "celebrities".
Ohhhhh! That Tiger! I voted 'Tiger who'....
Rehab? No idea what he's on about. That's for drunks and druggies.
He plays golf and shags women.
There's a problem?
By the by....He rather reminds me of Ming The Merciless in the old Flash Gordon show in that pic...except he's got hair...
Personally I think this is a family matter. I don't think he owed anyone an apology other than his family. It is no one else's business.
I read that this public statement goes against traditional rehab - I think Dr. Drew said it.
He doesn't owe anyone but his family anything. He plays golf and sells crap, if people don't like him then don't watch/don't buy.
I feel for the kids the most and wish the media would leave them alone.
And I agree with Jay, to cover this live like it was a national event is absurd.
WHO.REALLY.CARES?!
If it weren't for the media vying for a shrinking ratings share, this would have been a mere blip on the radar.. Now, I'm explaining what 'sex addiction' is to an 8 year old.. Or, actually, trying NOT to.. :):)
I think he talked about himself way too much=so obviously still self-centered in his recovery process. Hope his kids will be okay.
Good idea for a poll
I just don't care. I mean other than the private pain it caused, it was good for a couple of jokes, but hell, I didn't even watch the "press conference". Eh. Cheers Doc!!
I wouldn't want to be in his shoes or those of his wife and kids. It's a really bad situation for all of them. BUT... it's really none of my business. If he weren't a celebrity, none of us would have heard any hyped up news stories. This is something they need to work out as a family.
Does he have a larger obligation to "behave" himself because he might be someone's role model? Maybe. But he admitted publicly that he screwed up. And none of us can say we've never screwed up, so who are we to judge?
I didn't read the post I just saw Tiger and wanted to say who cares!
I think it's interesting that the top two on your poll are Compassion for Elin and kids (my vote) and I have better things to do with my time. I really could care less about Tiger but I feel so sorry for his family. It appears that many folks feel the same way and aren't interested in what he has to say.
Keep posting stuff like this i really like it
