Weekly Poll - New Years Eve

Hey everyone, It's almost New Years and this weeks poll seeks to find out how you celebrate. Do you go out to a huge party with friends? Do you go to a bar for a celebration? How about just watching the ball drop at home?
My wife and I have our annual tradition with a bunch of our friends that we get together and do a fondue three course dinner. Cheese appetizers, then the meats and veggies, and chocolate for dessert. For those of you who don't fondue this process takes so long that by the time we finish dinner its usually ball drop time!
So how do you celebrate on New Years Eve? Please vote in the poll and make any comments you wish.

Love The MELTING POT if that's where you go! We usually go for my birthday except this year (no time available). We will be ringing in the New Year with great friends and party at their house. Better to do all the damage at someone else house. Then we can stagger our way home a block away....on foot of course! Cheers to all for the New Year!

New Year's Eve was my and Not-So-Ex's first anniversary so, for the married years, we always tried to at least have a dinner and stuff with the family. Then came the divorced years when we just tried not to think about it. These days it's a sweeter memory but will still probably involve me sitting and prying the kids eyes open till midnight and then hitting the bed.

Our plans always depend on the hubby's work schedule. This year, he is on the day shift, which makes him available for some kind of celebration, but nothing too crazy as he has to get up for work in the morning. We're planning to have some friends over for drinks and games. Low key...

I celebrate with my friends and family at a bar. Pretty much the same thing for the last 12 years or so - except for Y2K.

New Years Eve is amateur night. I usually stay in. I'll probably be on twitter/facebook/blogtalkradio.

We usually stay home and I fall asleep. If we do go out I choose to be the designated driver and where is the fun in that :(

I will be at home drinking with my cat and probably drunk tweeting.

We have traveled in the past but we'll be home this year. I love to watch the ball drop and try to make my kids stay up and ring in the new year with me (not always successful though). My husband is a dud and I usually have to slip in and grab a kiss after he's been asleep for a couple of hours.

Anyway, I celebrate the New Year :)

We are boring and will just go out to eat and then stay home playing games and watching tv. Fondue sounds delicious! But sadly, a forbidden food for me. And I don't have a fondue set.

I usually fall asleep on the couch at around 10, get woken up when the ball drops, say Happy New Year then go to bed. I know. I'm crazy cool like that.

But this year...that's all changing. I bought a swanky dress and am going dancing. Super excited.

Sounds like a lot of stuff going on for New Years... Our fondue party is lots of fun but I have to agree with Jay. It's amature night and I hate the ride home... Too many drunks on the road out there. I guess ti goes without saying folks WHATEVER you are doing for New years DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!!

We hang at home, order Chinese take out, eat like pigs, I drink my weight in wine and Champagne and we always have fun!

We are staying at home. We eat, drink, and party amongst ourselves for the duration.

And this year?

AMC is running a Three Stooges Marathon. 23 hours of the Stooges from NYE until New Year's morning. Woo Hoo.

Cheers Doc!!

We have a close-knit street and about 7 families will usually party together at one neighbour's house pot-luck style. This way, nobody has to worry about getting home after drinking.

I couldn't tell you the last time I went OUT for New Year's Eve. I think it was '94, and then had my third baby on October 1st. Aw, the memories. Well, okay, so I don't remember much about that night, but I've stayed home every since.
